Teachers or Educators

By David Ogden of TheInterBiz LLC

Throughout ones life one is always learning, either formally or informally. Most people link teachers with schools, however when you consider people involved with sports, coaches and trainers, you start to see just how teaching effects peoples lives.

Teaching is about passing on knowledge to other and this can be knowledge on any subject form car repairs, cooking to intenet marketing. Some people have the gift of being able to help others learn.

Without education you cannot advance. Take a look at the way some so called uneducated people live, they may not know much about the world but they have all learnt how to survive, to find food and shelter and some times live in harsh environment. They learn from one another.

In the past I did train to become a teacher of physical education, because at the time it was felt that people who taught outdoor pursuits should be trained teachers. In fact part of my job had been to train teachers in outdoor pursuits.

What amazed me was the fact that in general teachers seemed only to be able to control pupils within the four walls of a classroom and often panicked when faced with helping thier class spread over a square mile of sea, do to lack of experience of the elements. In fact after a disaster in the south of England. The authorities decided that outdoor pursuits were better to be supervised by experts in thier field rather than general teachers.
